Meridia from the Disney movie Brave says it best; "Your destiny lies within you. You just have to be brave enough to see it, and then your journey begins!"

Hi, my name is Ally Doering, and I am a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am passionate about working with families (who want to learn how to reconnect as a whole family unit), children (ages 4-10), women's issues, relationship conflicts, trauma, young adults (who are dealing with daily stressors, anxiety, OCD tendencies), and individuals who are dealing with grief and loss.

I use experiential therapy in every session with adults and children. Examples of experiential therapy include Art Therapy, Music Therapy, Sand Tray work, and Journaling. Experiential therapy helps clients verbalize how they are feeling internally without having to explain how they are feeling vocally.

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Counseling in May of 2017 from Trevecca Nazarene University, and in August of 2023  with my master's in Marriage and Family therapy. While studying at Trevecca, I was fortunate to have had training in Synergetic Play Therapy, and Stacy Jagger's Mountain Method. "Synergetic Play Therapy (2008) is a researched-informed model of play therapy blending the therapeutic power of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, physics, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity. It grew from personal experience and research in neuroscience, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and attachment theory (see Badenoch, 2008; Porges, 2011; Schore, 1994; Siegel, 1999 for coverage of the ideas behind SPT). Preliminary research suggests that SPT significantly improves emotional tolerance and regulation (Dion & Gray, 2014; Simmons, 2020)."

Stacy Jagger's Mountain Method training helps therapists and clients to have a clear beginning, middle, and end to their unique therapeutic journey. It also allows the client to develop his or her therapeutic goal. One of the things that I love most about the mountain method is that it helps the client see a healing light at the end of their therapeutic tunnel.

Before working on my master's, I was a nanny who worked with children ages 5-13, a horseback riding instructor, a camp counselor, and a sales associate.

Confidentiality, trust, safety, and high-quality client care are my top priorities! I value being fully present and honest in every therapy session. It takes courage to start your therapeutic journey, and I want to applaud you for your bravery. I hope I have the privilege to help you and your family on your pathway to healing. I have immediate openings!
