This month, we honor the resilience and strength of transgender individuals worldwide. Transgender Day of Visibility is internationally observed on March 31st. This serves as a powerful reminder of the importance how important it is to recognize the identities of transgender individuals everywhere. One statistic shows that 35.1%of transgender youth live in states that have passed bans on gender-affirming care (HRC Foundation).
Transgender individuals have long been marginalized and have faced discrimination, violence, and negative stigma for being true to themselves. Despite the challenges they may encounter, transgender individuals continue to navigate their journeys with authenticity and determination. From activists and artists to professionals and parents, transgender individuals enrich our communities and challenge us to embrace inclusion, acceptance, and love for all.
Today can be used to amplify transgender voices, support transgender-led initiatives, and stand in with our transgender community. Together, let us help build a future where all individuals can live authentically, freely, and without fear of discrimination or violence.
